About Us
The vision of two brothers Godwin and Jeff Addai.
On the Rise foundation is a Canadian non-profit based in Ottawa, Canada, that focuses on youth development through sport. The foundation also focuses on international outreach by supporting and running events in areas where youth face barriers to achieve their goals. On The Rise aims to use these events to educate, mentor, and teach life coaching skills to the participants.
Our Story: Two Brothers
Godwin and Jeffrey Addai are brothers who grew up in the inner-city of Ottawa, Canada. They were born of parents who immigrated to Canada from Kumasi, Ghana. As youth, their dream was to make a career out of soccer. The brothers developed their passion and love for soccer from their father.
Godwin received a full scholarship to Spring Arbor University and Jeffrey received a full scholarship to the University of South Carolina. Upon graduation the brothers went on to live their dream of playing professional soccer. Now, Godwin is a licensed soccer agent while Jeffrey has continued his career as a professional soccer player in Europe.
Using their personal experiences, the brothers want to use soccer as a tool to help and provide opportunities to youth from their hometown Ottawa, Canada.
